Development of New Model for Education Exchange Between U.S. and Korea

IRVINE, Calif., May 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Asia Center to Advance Educational Exchange (ACAEE), a Lyntz Knowledge Group Company, and California ETEC (Study California) have announced a partnership to introduce a new model for educational exchange between Korea, other Asian countries, and the United States. The partnership is a response to two powerful contemporary influences that are transforming education and international exchanges. One is the information revolution, and the other is the internationalization of education with increasing numbers of students going abroad for study and changing patterns of student flows. For decades now, South Korea has been a leading source of international students for colleges and universities in the United States. Many of these institutions and Korean students are in the State of California, with its large and diverse education sector.
The ACAEE was launched in Spring 2011 with a mission to advance educational exchange between the United States and Asian nations through innovative infrastructure and exchange strategies. It will localize communication through emerging digital networks for maximum credibility and effectiveness in the global education sector. ACAEE's leadership has extensive experience in government, the academic world and the private sector.
California ETEC was established in 2003 and is the leading higher education consortium in the State of California. California ETEC has more than 100 participating members comprised of community colleges, California State Universities, University of California campuses, private universities and for-profit universities. On May 16th, 2011, California ETEC was awarded the prestigious President's "E" Award for sustained success expanding international student enrollments in California.
The ACAEE-California ETEC partnership will develop a comprehensive range of educational services. These include a long-range plan to establish an Asia preparatory campus in Korea that will offer advanced English and liberal arts courses officially approved by U.S. colleges and universities. It will also work directly with those schools to conduct testing and screening in order that both Korean students and those who come here from other Asian nations will be eligible for conditional or direct admission into graduate or undergraduate programs with participating U.S. schools.
The ACAEE-California ETEC partnership aims to optimally combine the delivery of offline and online services through both real-world and virtual experiences. The following services will be introduced in 2011:
· Education consulting and customized market research.
· Familiarization tours of California schools, colleges and universities for prospective students and their parents from Korea.
· Localization services for Korea and neighboring Asian markets, including website design, hosting, promotional campaigns, virtual events, and alumni services.

Representatives of U.S. schools, colleges, universities and other educational organizations are encouraged to strengthen our efforts to enhance educational exchange by completing the online survey. (http://www.acaee.com)
