CONFERENCE> 10-day Institute on Buddhism and Science - Funds Available for Graduate Students and Post-Doctoral Fellows

The Mangalam Research Center for Buddhist Languages is is pleased to
announce a ten-day summer institute on the theme Putting the Buddhism/
Science Dialogue on a New Footing. Funded through a generous grant from
the John Templeton Foundation, the program will be held from July 17-26, 2017
in Berkeley, CA. It will bring together twenty leading scholars from the
sciences and humanities for ten days of interaction that will have a
significant impact on this emerging field.Institute Co-Directors are William Waldron PhD, Middlebury College, and Clifford Saron PhD, University of California, Davis. Participants include Elena Antonova, Kalina Christoff, Francisca Cho, Gaëlle Desbordes, Andy Dreitcer, John Dunne, Shaun Gallagher, David Germano, Linda Heuman, Laurence Kirmayer, David McMahan, Kenneth Paller, Claire Petitmengin, David Presti, Catherine Shaddix, and Martijn van Beek.
The terms of the grant from the Templeton Foundation allow us to accept into the program a limited number of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Students and fellows accepted into the program will receive a stipend of $1,000. To apply, please submit a CV, a one-page statement explaining your interest in the topic and how it relates to your work, a letter of recommendation, and a 150-word proposal for a Poster that you will present during the Institute. Materials may be submitted via email to programs@mangalamresearch.org
Applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM PDT, May 15, 2017.
Notifications of acceptance will be sent out by May 26, 2017.
