The Silk Road House presents: Young Energy Environmental Activists – A Kazakhstan-US experience

The Center for Safe Energy has been working in Kazakhstan with women leaders and environmental activists since 1999. Their website is www.centerforsafeenergy.org  
They were invited by colleagues of the Social-Ecological Fund to jumpstart their climate initiative.


Center for Safe Energy delegation members: Enid Schreibman, Paloma Pavel, John Perkins, and Maria Sanders. Dr. Pavel brings expertise in building networks, community involvement on greenhouse-gas reductions, climate justice, and the design of sustainable cities. Dr. Perkins brings expertise in the links between climate change and energy economies, making choices about new energy technologies, the assessment of national energy economies, and ways to promote higher uses of renewable energy and energy efficiency. Maria Sanders is the lead staff for energy and for climate planning initiatives in the city of El Cerrito, California. She has expertise in city planning for climate change and promotion of renewable energy and efficiency. Enid Schreibman, the Director of the Center for Safe Energy brings expertise on the development of NGOs and training citizens for effective action. She is a frequent guest at Silk Road House.

On January 25, Enid Schreibman, Dr. Paloma Pavel, and Maria Sanders will talk about their recent work with grass roots activists working on energy issues.

The event will take place at SRH on Sunday, January 25, at 3-5pm.
