Ratnākara Readings 2017: Jñānaśrīmitra’s Sākārasiddhiśāstra, with Prof. Harunaga Isaacson
We have the pleasure to announce that Prof. Harunaga Isaacson (Hamburg University) will conduct the 3rd instalment of the Ratnākara Readings at Mahidol University, during March 2017.
This year we will continue with the Sākārasiddhiśāstra of Jñānaśrīmitra, reading Chapter 2. This little studied text is an extraordinary philosophical compendium, offering a pramāṇa-infused exegesis of a number of important Buddhist sources (including the Mūlamadhyamakakārikā, the Pramāṇavārttika, the Madhyāntavibhaṅga, and the Ratnagotravibhāga), in the light of the position of Sākāravijñānavāda.
