Join us for our annual memorial service to remember those who have
gone before and helped to create, sustain, and grow the Institute.
There will be a light reception at 5:30 followed by the formal
service at 7:00. RSVP required.

- The Ohara School
of Northern California Chapter will host an exhibition of
members’ ikebana arrangements at the Jodo Shinshu Center on October 20 and 21.
- IBS MA student
Quang Le will be offering meditation at the Graduate
Theological Union's Doug Adams gallery every Thursday from 2 to 4
p.m.
- Toshi Book Prize:
presented by the Group in Buddhist Studies at UC Berkeley,
this year's award goes to Roy Tzohar for his book A Yogācāra Buddhist Theory of
Metaphor. An award ceremony and presentation will take
place on Friday November 9 at the Jodo
Shinshu Center.
- Encountering
Dharma: a series of seminars at the San Mateo Buddhist Church,
including on Wednesday December 5, IBS ministerial student
