ROK-Japan Foreign Ministers’ Meeting Takes Place
(Dec. 24) on Occasion of ROK-Japan-China
Trilateral Summit
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha met with Minister for Foreign
Affairs of Japan Toshimitsu Motegi on the morning of December 24 on the
occasion of the ROK-Japan-China Trilateral Summit, and exchanged
views on issues of mutual interest, including the ROK-Japan summit scheduled
for the afternoon of the same day, Japan’s export-restrictive measures, and
the forced labor issue. The two Ministers shared the view that the
ROK-Japan summit, the first in about 15 months, should be held successfully
and exchanged views on key agendas for the summit.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets with Prime
Minister of Sweden
Stefan Löfven
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a
meeting on
December 20 with Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden
Stefan Löfven, who is making an official visit to the
Republic
of Korea (Dec. 18-20), and exchanged views on the
60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic
relations
between the ROK and Sweden.
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Meets with
UNESCO
Director-General
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Taeho met
with UNESCO
Director-General Audrey Azoulay in Paris on
December 19,
during which the two sides discussed cooperative relations
between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and
UNESCO.
Vice Minister Lee, calling UNESCO the ROK’s
important
cooperative partner, took note of the many
advances in the
ROK-UNESCO relations since the country’s
accession
to the body in 1950.
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Attends 1st Globa
l Refugee Forum
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Taeho attended
and delivered
a keynote speech at the 1st Global Refugee Forum held in
Geneva on December 17. In his speech, he expressed the
firm commitment of the government of the Republic
of Kore
(ROK) to continued participation in the internationa
community’s efforts to respond to the global refugee
issue and presented the ROK government’s pledges
and contributions.
1st Session of ROK-Georgia Joint Commission
on Bilateral Economic Cooperation Takes Place
The 1st Session of the Republic of Korea-Georgia Joint
Commission on Bilateral Economic Cooperation took place
in Seoul on December 23. Mr. Yun Kang-hyeon, Deputy
Minister for Economic Affairs of the ROK Ministry
of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Genadi Arveladze,
Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable
Development of Georgia, were the head delegates to the meeting.
