Outcome of ROK-U.S. Foreign Ministerial Meeting
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a bilateral meeting with
Secretary of State of the United States (U.S.) Mike Pompeo on the morning
of January 14, during which the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest,
including the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the alliance issues
, and the current situations in Northeast Asia as well as in the
Middle East. The Minister and the Secretary shared assessments of the
current situation regarding the Korean Peninsula issues and exchanged
views on ways to maintain the momentum of the dialogue process for
denuclearization in steadfast collaboration between the ROK and the U.S.
and to resume U.S.-North Korea dialogue, as well as on
inter-Korean relations.
Outcome of ROK-U.S.-Japan Foreign Ministerial Meeting
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a meeting
with United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Ministe
r for Foreign Affairs of Japan Toshimitsu Motegi on the morning of
January 14, and exchanged views on ways for the three countries
to work together on the North Korean nuclear issue, as well as
the developments in Northeast Asia and the current situation
in the Middle East.
Outcome of ROK-Japan Foreign Ministers’ Meeting
On the occasion of the ROK-U.S. and the ROK-U.S.-Japan
foreign ministerial meetings held in San Francisco,
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a meeting with
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Toshimitsu Motegi on the
afternoon of January 14, local time, and exchanged views
on issues of mutual interest.
Outcome of ROK-Japan Director-General-Level Meeting
Mr. Kim Jung-han, Director-General for Asian and Pacific
Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had a meeting
with Mr. Shigeki Takizaki, Director-General of the Asian and
Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Japan on the afternoon of January 13, local time, and
exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
ROK Government Provides US$200,000 in Humanitarian
Assistance to People Displaced by Volcanic
Eruption in Philippines
The government of the Republic of Korea has decided
to provide US$200,000 in humanitarian assistance through
the Philippine Red Cross to help about 45,000 people displaced
by the eruption of the Philippines
