Dear all,on behalf of a colleague who is not on h-net I would like to draw your attention to a PhD-fellowship announced at the Norwegian School of Theology, Religion and Society for a PhD candidate who will "conduct research on the changing media landscapes in Myanmar and its effects on Buddhist monastic authority, styles of communication and forms of transnational engagement" as part of the project INTERSECT (Intersecting Flows of Islamophobia), led by Associate Professor Dr. Iselin Frydenlund. The lecture series will be delivered by Dr. Yukio Hayashi, Department of History, Ryukoku University. He is a specialist of Buddhist history, particularly Southeast Asian Theravada Buddhism.
