Outcome of Telephone Conversation between
ROK and Chinese Foreign Ministers
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a telephone conversation with
Mr. Wang Yi, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s
Republic of China, on January 28., and exchanged views on issues of mutual
interest, including the protection of Koreans in China against the novel coronavirus,
ways to extend assistance China may require, and summit- and high-level exchange
s
between the two countries. Regarding the recent spread of the novel coronavirus
in China, Minister Kang asked for the Chinese side’s continued cooperation in
securing the safety of Koreans staying in China, including supporting their
return; hoped that the situation will be brought under control swiftly and
smoothly through the Chinese government’s active measures; and said that
in the process, the ROK government will also extend active cooperation, including
providing necessary supplies.

Security Affairs to Visit EU and Germany

the European Union’s headquarters
in Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium,

nvitation of the EU, and attend
the EU Political and Security

The 2nd ROK-UK Cyber Dialogue Held
The 2nd Republic of Korea (ROK)-United Kingdom (UK) Cyber
Dialogue was held in Seoul on Wednesday, January 29.
Mr. Bae Jong-in, Ambassador for International Security Affairs of
ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Alexander Evans, Director
Cyber of the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office led
the dialogue with participation from officials of cybersecurity-related
agencies of the two countries.
ROK Government Decides to Extend 5 Million U. S. Dollars
in Emergency Assistance to Novel Coronavirus-Stricken China
The government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) has decided to
extend emergency assistance worth a total of 5 million U.S. dollars
to the People’s Republic of China, which is suffering from the rapid
spread of a novel coronavirus.
MOFA Spokesperson’s Commentary on U.S.’ Middle East Peace Plan
The government of the Republic of Korea appreciates the efforts of the
international community, including the United States, to establish
peace in the Middle East, and hopes that the Israeli-Palestinian
issue will be resolved peacefully through dialogue and compromise
among concerned parties on the basis of the “two-state solution.”
