Apple probed in Japan

over anti-competitive

behavior

TOKYO -- Apple is under
 investigation for allegedly
pressuring Yahoo Japan
 to terminate a game platform
that competes with the U.S.
technology giant's lucrative
App Store, Nikkei has learned.

The Fair Trade Commission
believes Apple's behavior may constitute a violation of Japan's
 Anti-Monopoly Act.

Yahoo's web-based Game Plus
service, which launched in July
 2017, lets users play games
without downloading apps.
Yahoo abruptly slashed its
 budget for the service last
fall and has now all but stopped promoting it.
