Editor for Journal of Buddhist Ethics

The Journal of Buddhist Ethics is
pleased to announce that on January 1, 2019, Prof. Victor Forte will become the
General Editor of the JBE. Daniel Cozort, who has served in that
capacity for the past twelve and a half years, will continue to handle some
technical tasks for awhile but will not do editing work. The rest of the JBE
editorial staff and board will remain in place for the time being.
Victor Forte, M.S. Ph.D. is an Associate
Professor of Religious Studies and Director of Asian Studies at Albright
College in Reading, PA, U.S. He received an M.S. in Environmental Science from Drexel
University (1993), and a Ph.D. in Religion from Temple University (2004). Prof.
Forte teaches courses on Buddhist Studies, Asian Religions, Asian Film and
Culture, and Religion and the Environment. His main research interests are in
Buddhist Ethics and Comparative Philosophy; examples of his published work
include, “Early Buddhist Inclusion of Intentionality in the Laws of Causation”
(2006), “Reflections on the Ethical Meaning of Shinran’s True Entrusting”
(2009), a co-authored translation of Ueda Shizutera’s “Seimei, Sei,
and Inochi, (2014), and “Making Metta: The Poesis of Wholesome States
Among Homeleavers in Pāli Buddhism” (2017). His most recent article is a
response to contemporary Buddhist nationalistic activities, titled “Buddhist
Nationalism and Marginalizing Rhetoric in a Dependently Originated World”
(2018).

being Book Review Editor, that position is now open. Please address expressions
