	Minister of Foreign Affairs Attends  Coronavirus Global Response  International Pledging Conference Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha participated in the  Coronavirus Global Response International Pledging Conference held  in a video format on May 4. The Conference, led by the   European Commission, brought together delegates from about  40 donor countries, including the Republic of Korea;  such international organizations as the United Nations (UN),  the World Health Organization (WHO), and the World Bank (WB);  and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Coalition for  Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), and Gavi, the V accine Alliance, who expressed their willingness to contribute  to the development of a vaccine, treatments and diagnostics. Phone Conversation between ROK Foreign  Minister and U.S. Secretary of State Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a  phone conversation with Secretary of State of the  United States of America Mike Pompeo on May 6th,  and discussed COVID-19 situations in their countries  and cooperative measures, the Korean Peninsula   situation, and current issues between the Republic  of Korea and the U.S. 7th Teleconference on COVID-19 Response between   Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho and  his Counterparts Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Sei-young had  the 7th multilateral teleconference on COVID-19 response  with his counterparts of countries in the region on May 1.  In the teleconference, as part of efforts to minimize the  negative impact of COVID-19 on international trade and  investment, the vice foreign ministers exchanged  in-depth views on a range of measures. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Has Telephone  Conversation with Minister of State of UK Foreign  and Commonwealth Office Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Taeho had a   telephone conversation with Mr. Nigel Adams, Minister o f State (Minister for Asia) at the Foreign and  Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom of  Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on May 1  at the latter’s request. The two sides shared developments  in the spread of COVID-19 and exchanged views on ways  to respond to it. 2nd ROK-China Video Conference on Cooperation  in Fight against COVID-19 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a Republic of  Korea-People’s Republic of China director-general-level  dialogue on cooperation on disease control  in response to COVID-19 in the form of  video conference on April 29, bringing together  officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, the disease c ontrol authorities, and other relevant government agencies of the two countries.
