Funding is provided by the Taiwan Studies Lectureship (TSL), which aims to expand curricular offerings in Taiwan studies, as well as to facilitate research and graduate training networks linking faculty and students in similar fields at UCLA and in Taiwan. While in residence, visiting scholars are expected to co-teach or give lectures in a course taught by the sponsoring faculty member, or to lead an independent short-term course on a topic related to Taiwan.
