Minister of Foreign Affairs Participates in
9th Video Conference of Ministerial
Coordination Group on COVID-19
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha attended the 9th
multilateral video conference among the foreign ministers
of the “Ministerial Coordination Group on COVID-19” on
June 9, and suggested that countries, while maintaining
stable disease prevention and control, further step up efforts
to continue essential exchanges with one another in a bid to
maintain global supply chains and achieve economic
recovery. Minister Kang went on to explain the situation
in the ROK, saying that since the initial stages of the
COVID-19 crisis, the ROK government has continued
to seek ways to enable people’s economic activities and
daily lives while curbing the spread of COVID-19
infections and has steadily been working for “distancing in
everyday life” to take root.

Global Vaccine Summit 2020
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha
attended the “Global Vaccine Summit 2020,”
held in the form of a video conference on June
4. The Global Vaccine Summit 2020 brought
together heads of state and ministers from
more than 30 countries as well as heads
of the United Nations, the World
Health Organization, and the Bill &
Melinda Gates Foundation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Attends Webinar
titled “Democracy in the Time of Corona”
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha attended
a webinar titled “Democracy in the time of Corona,”
co-hosted by the International Institute for Democracy
and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) and
the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in the
Republic of Korea on June 9.
Telephone Conversation between Foreign
Ministers of ROK and UK
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a
telephone conversation with Mr. Dominic Rennie
Raab, Secretary of State for Foreign and
Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom
of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on J
une 10. They discussed response to COVID-19,
the revision of bilateral agreements in preparation
for Brexit, the special message of Her Majesty
The Queen of the UK, environmental cooperation
and the current global affairs.
Telephone Conversation between Foreign
Ministers of ROK and Hungary
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had
a telephone conversation with Minister of
Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary
Péter Szijjártó on June 8 around the 1st anniversary
of the boat accident in Hungary and discussed
ways for cooperation on COVID-19 response as
well as development of the relations between
the Republic of Korea and Hungary.
