Exploring
Fragility Through Music
Asia
Society New York played host to drummer and composer Susie Ibarra’s
performance Fragility:
An Exploration of Polyrhythms, an immersive percussive
piece that explores fragility through music. In part one,
Ibarra creates a mesmerizing soundscape using nothing but a row of
glasses filled with varying amounts of water. In part two,
Ibarra is joined in Asia Society’s galleries by her DreamTime Ensemble
as well as dancer and choreographer Souleymane Badolo for a
stirring, memorable performance.
