Can
Chinese Philanthropy Alleviate Global Poverty?
An
explosion of wealth creation in China has had a profound impact on
the global economy, not least in the area of philanthropy. A new
study by the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN), with
support from the Rockefeller Foundation, considers how Chinese
giving can be deployed to address a number of global challenges.
Last
week, Asia Society New York welcomed Rajiv Shah,
Kevin Teo,
Rujing
Gong, and Susan
Yuqing Feng to our stage to discuss the AVPN report
and the broader potential of Chinese philanthropy.
