	Telephone Conversation between Foreign  Minister and ICRC President Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a telephone conversation  with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)  Peter Maurer on April 13 at the latter’s request and discussed the progress  in the responses of the Republic of Korea and the ICRC to COVID-19  and ways to enhance their cooperation. Minister Kang commended the ICRC  for playing a significant role at the forefront of the unprecedented  humanitarian crisis, which was caused by the global spread of  COVID-19, including by rendering assistance to vulnerable populations. Telephone Conversation between Foreign Ministers   of ROK and New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a telephone  conversation with Mr. Winston Peters, Deputy Prime Minister  and Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, on April 16   at the latter’s request and discussed ways for cooperation  on response to COVID-19. 4th Teleconference on COVID-19 Response between   Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho and his Counter Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Sei-young had  the 4th multilateral teleconference with his counterparts of   countries in the region on April 10. The vice foreign  ministers shared the developments in the spread of  COVID-19 and response measures in their respective  countries and agreed to continue collaboration. 5 MIKTA Countries Hold Senior Officials’ Meeting The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a Senior Officials’ Meeting  among the five MIKTA countries -the Republic of Korea, the United Mexican States, the Republic of Indonesia, the  Republic of Turkey, and the Commonwealth of  Australia- in the form of videoconference on April 16  with Deputy Minister for Multilateral and Global Affairs  Ham Sang-wook as its chair. MOFA Spokesperson’s Statement The government of the Republic of Korea welcomes   the announcement by the Arab Coalition Forces led by  the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that they would begin  a two-week comprehensive ceasefire starting on April 9  to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to ease tensions  in the region and alleviate the suffering of the  Yemeni people.
