Immunity
Boosts to Keep You Strong

I don’t know about you,
but for me the last month has been an incredible lesson in letting go
and surrendering to all the things that are out of my control. And
lately, I find that the elements of my daily routine—no matter how
small—are the very things that bring the most comfort.
These quiet, nourishing
moments of self-care are so grounding and have been keeping me
centered every day. I start off with the restorative practices of
Ayurveda, which include oil pulling, dry brushing, and the healing
art of abhyanga self-massage. It
takes an extra 15 minutes, but it makes such a difference in starting
out the morning feeling connected and invigorated. Before bed, I pull
out some of the techniques I have learned from Everyday
Chinese Medicine to wind down the day. I particularly
love the practice
of Gua Sha, which uses a simple jade tool to help relieve muscle
tension, improve circulation, and to move the lymphatic system.
Finally, the simplest
part of my routine is to connect with my favorite plants and herbs by
drinking calming teas before bed. My favorites right now for calming
my nervous systems are rose, hawthorn, passionflower, skullcap, lemon
balm, nettle, and chamomile. Whatever your self-care routine is these
days, I don’t think there is any better way to spend our time at home
than connecting with our loved ones and taking good care of
ourselves. I hope these resources help bring you comfort and inspire
you to take a little time for yourself each day.
