Greetings. We wish everyone safety and health at the present
time of the global pandemic crisis. While many of us now spend time at
home, we would like to remind you of our 2-Part Special Issue on
the 2020 Olympics, edited by Jeff Kingston, published last month.
This is by far the most ambitious effort we have undertaken, containing
over 40 articles on various related topics, and we hope many of you will
find them worthwhile.
In the present issue, Jeff provides an update detailing
new developments that finally led to the official postponement of the
2020 Olympics and their rescheduling in 2021. Please see the Kingston
article below which links to the Table of Contents of the Special Issue.
Also, NHK Television has published a documentary on the COVID-19 in Japan
which may be of our readers' interest. It has discussions about the
nature of the virus, reflection on why Japan has apparently been less
severely affected than China, South Korea and the United States, and an
assessment of Japanese government policy. It is 65 minutes long and is
available through this
link until April 9.
