Venerable Dr Hsing Yun and contemporary Buddhism

Venerable Dr Hsing Yun, the Grand Master of Fo Guang Shan, is one of the best known and most influential Buddhist scholar-monks of our generation. His interpretation of Humanistic Buddhism (renjian fojiao) is his greatest contribution to the promotion of Buddhism in the world. He began by re-emphasizing the humanistic overtones of his own spiritual predecessor, the Sixth Patriarch Huineng (638-713). This seminar introduces the quintessence of the ideas generated by Grand Master Hsing Yun and discusses how they could be implemented in today’s world.
