Sojong and Lojong Instruction

The three most influential texts on Lojong, or mind training: Parting From the Four Attachments, Eight-Verse Lojong, and Seven-Point Mind Training—have sustained the spirits and given purpose to the lives of millions of people over the centuries. We will read, review, and reflect upon these teachings, accompanying our study with step-by-step meditation throughout each session. This training reminds us that every worth in this world and in our lives is rooted in the spirit of compassion and kindness, nurtured by joy and equanimity of mind. Sojong introduces us to the practice of deliberate action in keeping with the disciplines of humanity as taught by Buddha. It is the very foundation of everything possible, from the very basic qualities of life to the highest esoteric spiritual ventures and everything we aspire for in this life and beyond.
