Crises in the Asia-Pacific: A workshop of presentations and discussion

Sophia University, Yotsuya Campus

The program will include workshops on Japan in comparative perspective.

Welcome: 2pm

Session I: 2:15-3:15
* Media Under Siege, David McNeill, Justin McCurry, Sato Manabu, Tina Burrett (chair)
* Gender Equality and Labor: Machiko Osawa, Huiyuan Fu, Phoebe Holdgruen, David Slater (chair)

Session II: 3:30-4:30
* Geopolitics of the Asia-Pacific Roundtable: China, Japan, Korea, U.S: JJ Suh, Donna Weeks, Utsumi Aiko, Wada Haruki, Mark Selden, Gavan McCormack (chair)

Session III: 4:45-6pm
* Discussion by workshop participants on their research and journal priorities, special issues, and the future of the journal (Mark Selden, chair)

The dinner is a set course for 4,800 yen per person, including alcohol.
