MacArthur today announced the launch of Collective Shift, a new nonprofit that builds on more than $200 million in research, design experiments, and demonstrations the Foundation has supported in Digital Media and Learning over the last decade. With $25 million in seed funding, Collective Shift's first project is LRNG, which will expand a city-based, 21st century ecosystem of learning that combines in-school, out-of-school, work-based, and online learning opportunities that are visible and accessible to all.

14 Chicago Arts Groups Receive Grants for International Collaborations
Fourteen Chicago arts and culture groups were awarded International Connections Fund grants today to support diverse artistic exchanges in 14 countries including Cuba, Colombia, Grenada, and South Africa. "The International Connections Fund enables Chicago's vital arts and culture sector to continue to build Chicago's reputation as a global city; the work that comes out of these exchanges will touch people around the world," said MacArthur President Julia Stasch.
