Tesla hires Hiro Mizuno,

ex-manager of Japan's

$1.5tn pension fund

PALO ALTO, U.S./NEW YORK --
Tesla has hired veteran Japanese financier Hiromichi Mizuno
as a new member of its board
of directors and audit committee,
the company said Thursday.

Mizuno had been the CIO of
Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund, where he
became known for his position
against short-selling, a practice
 that has plagued Tesla.

"We are excited that Hiro has
joined our mission to accelerate
 the world's transition to
 sustainable energy," Tesla said.
